When feeling down
amplifying your resiliency when you feel the weight of the world
crashing down upon you.We know you feel down at times and we wanted to send out some quick thoughts
as to what you can do to uplift yourself when things are challenging and when you feel down. What to do when feeling down – the mega quick list:
Exercise- move your body to shift your mood and get those endorphins flowing- even if it is only 10 minutes- that equals 600 seconds- it is do-able even when you don’t feel like doing it. We get it.
Connect with someone who cares about you and will listen to you- feeling truly heard feels good
Come in for a balancing session at Living Inline- life juts feels more tolerable, and joyful
when you drop the tension that you store in your body- balancing sessions aren’t about your back they are about your life.
Surround yourself with positive stories- I love heroic stories of people who have overcome challenges and have chosen to embrace life with a resounding commitment to not let life squash their heart, faith and connection to possibility.
You want a good one, just click on this link

Volunteer- studies show that people who serve feel better, live longer and have an overall feeling of contentment ( here’s proof) Link :

Listen to things that fill your head with positive thoughts ( tapes, cd’s, books on tape, even your own voice on a recorder telling yourself that everything will be ok- it’s powerful- try it)
Really feel down for the day don’t fight it, just feel the feelings,- and then try to release them and start the next day new
Fast- often we crave comfort food that only negatively effects our blood sugar- why not take a day and fast on simple broths, veggie juice or fruit- the uplifting cleansing feeling
will do you good- we promise you won’t starve to death
Create a gratitude journal and list anything that helps you connect to feelings of appreciation
Come to Living Inline and get coached by Dr. Elissa- there is something about feeling your patterns that limit you melt away or there is something so relieving about dialogue that supports your next and best steps.
Paint with music there is something so healing about color and sound- splash some paint
On a big piece of butcher block paper and watch how it gives you a lift
On the paint theme- paint one room in your house a bright color- it could even
Be the inside of your garage- go for watermelon red, bright orange, happy blue or a
Soothing white to uplift your spirits
Lets face it Arizona is dry – so go get wet- jump in the pool, soak in the bath or run in the sprinkler
And supports the nervous system. I take it every day- I absolutely love it.Break out old pictures of people you love or pictures of a time when you were joyful-
Perhaps this will inspire new feelings of optimismAsk for help- there is something so liberating about asking a friend, a neighbor, a colleague for something you need help with
Write a letter to your higher power or to someone you really trust and really just pour your heart out and write out in detail your challenges, frustrations and disappointments. Don’t censor it either- really write from the heart and then dispose of the letter to ensure your confidentiality
Write a thank you note- Chanda knows that I am the note monster- I love writing notes of thanks, praise, gratitude, or simply a reaching out and saying hello note- I lie picturing the look on someone’s face when they know I have taken the time to tell them I appreciate them- that is of course if they can read my writing- for those who understand
that joke I am sure you are grinning right now- Ok, MOM I will work on it- I promise- sort of.
Find community- somehow, seek out people who think like you do- find a book club, a social organization, a service project, an animal volunteer organization- anything that speaks to your values and spend time with people who share those same values.
Fill a balloon up with guacamole and throw it against the wall- sounds gross but I have done it and man is it relieving!
Or- just throw water balloons- less expensive, cleaner, and quicker and hey the water cools you off -literally and figuratively
Come to Living Inline on a Saturday and create a weekend that starts with healing, and peace Then go to the movies and treat yourself to popcorn!
Pet an animal- there is something about being around the unconditional love of an animal that just opens the heart.
Create a scavenger hunt with friends and hide silly objects and create clues- just have good clean fun
How about games like twister, boggle, monopoly, life, Janga, mini-golf, batting cages,, ping-pong- just choose fun for once- the errands will wait.
Take a self-care day- take a day off, take a half a day off, take yourself out to lunch, tell your family you are unavailable for 4 hours, veg out at Barnes and Noble, get a manicure, pedicure, massage, hang out at Living Inline all day, eat yummy Thai Food and then get a second balancing session! You get the drift- make one day or even a half day just for you.
Choose silence- the media, news, radio, TV can be noisy at times- take one day and just be in silence- enjoy the quiet and peace and give your nervous system a break- even add a quiet time for contemplation, renewal or prayer and enjoy feeling a greater sense of connection.
I know there are thousands more strategies to list however, I hope that the few that I have listed have brought a little hope and cheer to your day and I hope that even one small ideawill bring you a greater sense of wholeness, joy and peace.
We Care.

Living Inline
Clear cut benefits
Every now and then I like to put myself in the place of a potential client that I may have the chance to serve, and I try to look at our practice from their point of view.
I realized that all too often, I promote the important reasons as to why someone would logically choose to get their spine checked and balanced to improve their overall quality of life.
To those who know us and know all that we have to offer, the connection between having a healthy spine and a greater expression of joy and health makes sense and is not foreign.
But for those who have not yet been exposed to us, I was inspired to
make a tangible list as to what benefits one can receive from participating in our care with us.
Benefit #1:
The concept and necessity of becoming or staying resilient in this world makes sense.
The onslaught of challenges at times seem like they are never going to end, and we have a solution and strategy to help one more greatly adapt to the demands of life. When your spine is more balanced, the messages from your brain can literally reach the cells of your body with more clarity and ease.
Have you ever been in an argument with someone and the higher version of yourself knows that what you are saying is non-productive,a and yet you just can’t seem to turn off the faucet coming out of your mouth?
In some ways in that instance, you have lost control of your ability to coordinate yourself.
When the messages of your brain are interfered with by tension patterns along the communication pathways of your body, you can not access your greatest sense of resiliency and clarity.
One huge benefit of our care at Living Inline is that you will be able to dissipate the tension you carry, and bounce back from the challenges that need to be confronted with your greatest efforts possible.
Benefit #2
Peace-
Lets face it, quiet is a commodity. Cel phones, pagers, blackberry’s, iphones, webcasts, radio stations, television, news, family demands, professional expectations, personal journeys and more.
There is so much noise in the world and some of it even comes from inside of us.
On our health profile when a new client starts care we ask questions about how one centers himself or renews herself.
It is very rare now-adays that I see that question answered in a way in which people have a sustainable strategy to feel consistently optimistic, connected, centered, and fresh.
One benefit that people feel and experience just about every time they leave our office is a sense of ease, calm, quiet and peace.
We foster an environment where we demand little, and aim to offer more.
Peace is a benefit that carries over into every aspect of life, health, relationships, success and survival.
You will benefit by feeling an overall sense of life enhancement and peace.
Benefit #3
Successful
Nowadays, I find that people often feel as though the sky is falling when it comes to their body, health, and life.
At Living Inline, people often share that they are more greatly able to accomplish what they set out to when they receive our care.
It is almost as if they finally drive with the parking break off.
People flat out tell us that their sales are up, their golf game is better, they feel more patient, more flexible, more laid-back, more motivated, and more greatly able to take action.
Success is a benefit you will experience with us. When you feel more in sync within your body and health potential, the phone rings, possibilities arise, and optimism returns.
We like results. We like helping you get them.
More benefits to be shared- another benefit we offer

Eric the Bellman
I had the nicest experience today in Philadelphia. I just flew overnight to be able to serve players in the morning and as I arrived at my hotel there was a tremendous amount of activity and security near the entrance of the hotel.
It turns out there were a few sports teams in the building all at once and sometimes fans can get a bit pushy and dis-respectful. As I was loading my bags onto the cart, I had an amazing 3 minute experience.
Somehow, a man got through some of the security lines and he sauntered up to the bellman. The man appeared slightly odd, anxious and jittery. He looked as though he was partially shaven and his dress collar was sticking up like one half of a paper airplane that was yet to be folded.
He briskly walked up to the bellman that was helping me and asked him repeatedly who he should talk to to apply for a job, or where could he go for an employment application. Now clearly this man was a bit disheveled and nervous and many may have simply brushed him off or not taken the time.
But Eric the bellman smiled at the man. He gently took him aside and even gave him the cel phone number of the woman who was in charge of interviews and hiring.
I was stunned. I was filled with a myriad of thoughts, judgments and mental noise. Eric simply carried on as though it was business as usual.
In the elevator I said to Eric, ” I saw what you just did.”
He played it off like he had no idea what I was speaking about. I went on to explain that he was wonderful and patient and he went out of his way for a man who on the surface may not have seemed fit for a job.
Eric looked me straight in the eye and said , ” You just may never know if this was his last straw.”
Needless to say, I was quieted and humbled. Wow, maybe the man may not even get the job, but perhaps the fact that Eric took the time made all the difference. Perhaps he starts as part of the late night cleanup crew and works for 8 years and receives training and becomes the best concierge someday.
You just never know. And that is what Eric meant. In times of distress, sometimes all we need is 15 seconds of faith and love and then magic begins to unfold. Sometimes, all we need is a chance.
I salute Eric and I have provided you with a picture of his warm and radiant smile and next time I see him I hope to give him a copy of this note and a thank you letter for uplifting and mentoring me. You just never know where your next teacher will appear.
May every interaction you have today uplift, nurture, and inspire someone else and perhaps yourself too.
Dr. J
Well done Eric. Well Done.
Sincerely,
Living Inline Crew

Earn interest in your health account- invest in you!
Offer Expires Never- This concept never gets old. Truth prevails. Vitality is manifest. If you are reading this far we hope today is a good day for you.
Kindness, just because
I am writing to you from beautiful and breezy San Diego where I am serving athletes.
I am staying in a wonderful luxury hotel near the water and when I checked in today I had a wonderful experience.
I took an 8:05 am flight from Phoenix and I landed in San Diego at 9:15. Gotta love those flights where you take a cat nap and open your eyes and the plane is landing. Perfect!
Anyway, I arrived at the hotel by 9:45 am and I was informed that my room was not going to be ready for 20 minutes. I shared that there was no stress at all and I could tell that the woman at the front desk was giving me a slightly odd stare.
Later, upon checking in and receiving my room keys, I thanked the front desk attendant and smiled at her and asked her a bit about her home country as I overheard her talking about her mom’s favorite Thai dishes and recipes. She gave me a strange stare again and I honestly asked her why she was taken aback by me.
She stated, ” well, I am not sure why you were being so nice to me, you already were scheduled to be in an upgraded room.”
I smiled and I replied, ” I am not being nice to get anything. I simply enjoy learning about people, about life. I like paying attention. ”
She went on to share and apologize that she was not used to people being patient as she often dealt with intense conference attendees. I reassured her that all was well and I took the elevator to my room.
After I got settled into my room, I called down to the front desk and asked the attendant if I may have permission to suggest a book for her to glance at. Actually 2 books. One is ” Being Peace” by the famous Monk Thich Nhat Hanh and the other is ” The Wisdom of No Escape by Pema Chodron.
Both books speak to the power of the present and the freedom in fully engaging in life and taking a stance of loving neutrality at the same time.
After speaking with her, the front desk attendant admitted that she had become worn down and even admittedly cynical. She simply was not used to kindness for the sake of kindness. I enjoy being warm. Believe it or not I have been selfish in this lifetime before and I really enjoy living a life of connection a lot better.
I am not lying to you when I tell you we once had a client leave Living Inline when she thought we were part of some “happiness cult” I am being 100% serious. Our good friend and awesome dentist Dr. Steve Morales literally had to walk the patient he head referred to us back into our office to reassure her we were for real.
Life is precious to us and so are you. Kindness and warmth are deep personal commitments for us and we aim to spread optimism and joy whenever possible and appropriate.
May today be a day when you feel energized to give your full attention or kindness to someone. Just because. Trust us you will be glad you did. So will they.
And so it is
With Blessings of wellness, warmth, ( yeah yeah it’s a dry heat- I can hear the jokes already being emailed to me from my friends during the month of july) and love
Dr. J
Break bread with us
I am a huge fan of Elissa’s. I guess this pretty much goes without saying as we have lived together, grown together, loved together and worked together for almost 17 years. I know, I know you are wondering , ” how could that be, Jason only looks 29 years old, so Jason and Elissa met when he was 12?”
Just kidding of course, but seriously, Elissa is one of the most profound people I know. So why am I writing this to you? I am writing this because I am often her fire, and she often soothes me and balances me out. I am pretty sure this is not any news to you.
But I am offering this up to you as I want to help create something for all of you and for my precious wife and partner. I had an idea today in that we would like to have lunch with you. Well, yes, we would like to have lunch with all of you, but how about we start in 10 people increments?
So here is the fun idea: Elissa just absolutely loves coaching. She loves the inquiry into life and what it means to live authentically and fully. She loves asking questions that have meaning and she loves eliminating things that keep us away from expressing our best selves.
So we would like to create a lunch and coaching conversation gathering at Pomegranate café with you. One afternoon within the next 30 days, Elissa will host an informal coaching group and delicious lunch at Pom right here in Ahwatukee. You can feast on delicious goodies and digest new concepts of self-advancement and growth. There is no catch, no hidden plan. Just a cool idea.
So what do you think? This offer is open to the first ten people who respond, and my sense is that we may have to create a waiting list fast. Who knows; perhaps this becomes a weekly or bi-weekly gathering and sense of connection. Maybe someone will find the clarity they are seeking, or the courage to step up, branch out, or shift.
At this time there is no charge at all for Elissa’s time at this lunch meeting and coaching gathering and we hope you can take advantage of this unique and quirky offer. Also, you can taste Cassie and Marlene’s delicious creations and I will even ask if they can create a special delectable Pomegranate dessert just for this group!
We look forward to your responses and Chanda will be coordinating the times and dates of this new and fun gathering. Chanda’s email is chanda@livinginline.com and her batphone is 480-704-2787
Sending all our best and more good to come
Dr. J and Dr. Elissa
Ps- pretty soon we will have a text line where you can text Chanda and Dawn too.
